CHASKA, Minn. — Exactly six months after announcing his candidacy for Governor in March, Dr. Scott Jensen has surpassed the $1 Million mark in fundraising. He shatters the previous high marks for Republican challengers during off-cycle years and will likely reach Tim Walz’s non-incumbent off-cycle fundraising record by the end of the year.

Jensen has established himself as a formidable opponent to Tim Walz in 2022, relying heavily on grassroots donations from Minnesotans who have been left behind. With over 9,000 individual donors, Jensen has built a campaign with enormous reach and broad appeal – attracting homemakers, union laborers, medical professionals, farmers, cashiers, teachers, dishwashers, law enforcement, Republicans, disenfranchised Democrats, and beyond to join his campaign by financially supporting it. While Jensen’s national appeal has helped bring our state into the spotlight across the country, nearly 90% of his donors reside in Minnesota.

Jensen says of the unprecedented fundraising, “We are building a movement in Minnesota. I’m not a politician; I’m a family doc who threw my hat in the ring because my wife and I felt called to it. I have witnessed the immense harm Tim Walz’s policies have done to our great state. Voters have seen it too. Our message of safe streets, funding and supporting students, secure elections, and SCIENCE (not political science) has given many people hope who were previously hopeless. I could not be more humbled by the response Minnesotans have given our campaign. Whether it’s $5 or $500, I have been deeply grateful for every dollar supporters have entrusted to our campaign. We will Heal Minnesota!”

Fundraising has often been difficult for Republicans in off-cycle years. Jensen’s unique approach to digital fundraising, social media, and small-dollar donors, along with a talented fundraising team, has changed the narrative. Beyond the success in fundraising, Jensen’s campaign runs a “lean ship” – and he currently has over $700,000 cash on hand. Dr. Scott Jensen has the grassroots support and a message that resonates across Minnesota. He is best positioned to make Tim Walz a one-term governor.
